Torrent glanced back from her spot on the edge of the Herdless Valley. She couldn't go back if she stepped into this place, and she knew this fact well. Shaking out her mane, she sent the snowy hairs flying before they all settled on one side of her neck. Next she took a deep breath, preparing herself for the next big step. This would be the first time she'd be in a herd since she'd her last one, considering she got accepted into one. Quietly, Torrent took the first steps into the valley and a walk slowly turned into a swift gallop. She stopped once she'd gotten closer to the other horses. She figured this would be a good enough place to stop, as her white coat would stand out against the greenery in the backround and she wanted to give all the others a fair chance at a herd too. If a stallion approached her regardless, of course she would consider his offer. Afterall, Torrent wasn't by any means a loner and would prefer a family as opposed to living alone. With a family, she supposed herself and any foals she may have would have a better chance at survival. Drawing her attention away from the other horses she nibbled at the grass below. It tasted sweet and a little juicy, different from the grass where she used to live. It was dry and had no flavor. Maybe this was a sign she should stay her. The sides of Torrent's mouths quirked upwards into a smile; all would be revealed in time, of that she was sure.

Whirlwind trotted in though he wasn't looking for mares he was simply just going to look at the options of mares at hand. Smiling as he trotted playfully around he was happy that his mate was going to foaling meadow. Whirlwind stopped when he saw a mare that looked similar to his sister. Though he knew it wasn't her. Trotting once more he approached the white mare with a smile on his face. Stopping in front of her he debated weather or not to have a conversation with her. Whirlwind knew it was a little to late to leave her in his dust. "Hello I am Whirlwind lead stallion of Whirling Mountain Meadow. Mate to the lead mare Snowstar." Whirlwind spoke softly to the mare as to not startle her.

Torrent glanced over as another horse approached her. She could tell from the smell that it was a male and she watched curiously as he continued towards her. She held her head up, temporarily forgetting the grass she'd been munching on when he was near enough. A fly decided to buzz by her ear at that moment and startled, Torrent snorted and stepped to the side, looking for the creature that'd pretty much disappeared into the surrounding area. She slowly turned her attention back to the snowy stallion, who'd introduced himself as Whirlwind. "Sorry, there was a fly.. in my ear.." she explained sheepishly, and rather awkwardly.
"Whirlwind, huh? I'm Torrent." she introduced a soft smile on her face. 'Looks like he didn't bring Snowstar with him..' the mare thought to herself. Perhaps she'd just stayed in the territory. After all, this was the Herdless Valley.. Torrent supposed if a mare wandered in here, they could be picked up by another stallion. Afterall, only the herdless should be in Herdless Valley.

The chocolate-striped zebra trotted into the Herdless Grounds, his legs carrying him forward at a brisk but constant pace. Jasiri has owned territory for a while now, yet still had no mares in his company. Taking his chances the zebra came to see what the Herdless Grounds had to offer. The stallion was quite handsome in his own right, and most defiantly unique. To most horses he was small, though for a zebra he was average, standing tweleve hands high. And with stripes of chocolate adorning his white pelt, Jasiri stood out even among the zebra crowd. How many mares could say that they were part of a herd lead by a zebra? Not many, in fact Jasiri was almost certian that he was the only zebra on this rock, on the entire continent. Slowing his pace the zebra's hazel eyes scanned the grounds seeking out possible prospects. An Arabian mare caught his attention quick, her coat of near white stood out almost as much as he did. The only problem? She was already in a conversation with another stallion. Standing some distance away, though still close enough to be noticed by the pair, Jasiri stood silent and waited for another to make the first move.

Torrent's skin prickled anxiously, she could feel eyes boring into her. As she glanced around, she could see that several mares had their attention riveted on her, but there was also a zebra standing not too far off. His hazel gaze was fixed on them, and yet he didn't say anything, choosing instead to stand quietly. "Hello," she called tentativly to the zebra. "Who are you?" She glanced quickly at Whirlwind and then back to Jasiri. Her words were an invitation for the zebra to join their conversation.
She could tell that he was a stallion as well, but why all theese males were approaching her out of all the other mares was a mystery to Torrent. The mare didn't deem herself anything special as to recieve all this attention, but if it helped her find a family, she was all for it.

Whirlwindturnedand saw a well-built Zebra stallion. Bowing to the stallion he showed respect for the shorter male. "Sorry if I confused you! I only want to have a conversation nothing more and nothing less." Whirlwind let the stallion know his intentions. He didn't want a fight though if he had to he would. Though for the sake of this stallion he wouldn't. Backing a bit from the mare he made it so that stallion would be closer to the mare. If the stallion asked him to leave he would be gone in seconds. Smiling he also invited the stallion to join them in their conversation.

The zebra nodded when he was invited into the conversation, and trotted up head held high. He wasn't the type to hide is true self. He wasn't wicked or persuasive purse, but you could describe him as cocky. "Hello." The little stallion smiled at the mare, "The name's Jasiri. And may I ask the pretty name of that pretty face?" He asked in a flirty voice. Occasionally he glanced over at the other stallion. He didn't ask him to leave, but he still kept an eye on him.
OOC: Bleh. It's short, but whatever.

Whirlwind sifted his weight warily as the Zebra showed his true colors the colors of cockiness. Snorting quietly under his breath too low for the others to hear, Whirlwind watched how the stallion who called himself Jasiri began to introduce himself and flatter the mare. Flicking his tail it showed that he was getting uncomfortable with the situation at hand. Whirlwind stayed for he found it rude to leave with out being excused.

Torrent nodded at Jasiri, a greeting to the zebra. "Hello," the mare mirrored Jasiri's smile. "I'm Torrent." She could tell the stallion was cocky, perhaps a little too much so, but his flattery made her smile too. Sending a quick glance in Whirlwind's direction she noticed he looked... nervous? She sent a quick but hopefull reassuring smile in his direction. "So, how'd you both end up here?" she asked, curious as too how some of the other horses had gotten to his haven of sorts.
ooc : don't worry, mine's pretty short too xD

Whirlwind heard the mares request for the reasons why he was here. He looked at Jasiri and back to the mare. Whirlwind had to be careful of what he said around this stallion. Looking at Torrent Whirlwind spoke softly. "I left my last herd I lead to my son. I couldn't stay there because of family issues." Whirlwind spoke warily letting the mare know he couldn't say much more about the subject.

Yes, Jasiri was a bit cocky, and loved to flaunt his uniqueness. He could't help it, that was just his nature, he was never truly corrected for it. If anything, all the scorn and rejection he received from the zebra herds incouraged it. Because of his bragging exterior, few truly got to know his chocolate zebra. Would anyone?
His black tail slapped his brown striped hide as Jasiri thought for a moment about the mares, question. It seemed pretty obvious why the was here, but how did a zebra end up in a land made up of mostly horses? The little stallion decided to start from the beginning and give a brief overview of his life. Perhaps that would water down his first impression.
"Have you ever heard of Africa?" the zebra started in a mellow tone. "'Cause that's where I'm from. There zebras are more common than actual horses, but not ones with brown stripes!" Jasiri chuckled, pausing before continuing. "There I was an outcast. The elder zebras, they....didn't appreciate my outlook on life. Anywho, I wandered all over Africa, a very big place I might add. Until a great storm blow through when I was wandering the coast. I was blew out to sea. I'm not sure how, but somehow I washed up here, on Reyan. So, seeing as it seemed impossible to go back the way I came, I decided to see if I could start a herd here. I've claimed territory, but have no mares to fill it." Jasiri just couldn't resist, with a brief pause, a blunt and flirtatious phrase was spoken by the zebra. After he had managed, to keep himself from sounding...a little less flaunting then usual. "Perhaps you could be my first?"

She nodded at Whirlwind and Jasiri. "I was cast off from my herd too," her voice took on a rather bitter tone. "There wasn't enough food for everyone, our lead stallion died, probably. So anyone who didn't have a foal got chased out." Torrent scoffed. "It was ridiculous. But anyways, I wandered around until I got here.." She laughed at Jasiri's blatant flirting. "Perhaps," Torrent agreed, swishing her tail behind her. "But.. how do I know your herd is the right one?" she asked. She knew most mares wouldn't ask such a question, but if a stallion wanted her in their herd he'd have to prove himself worthy of her. She grinned at Jasiri, a grin filled with a challenge.

Jasiri was caught of guard by such a question. How would he answer a question like that? His striped face furrowed in confusion as he scrambled to think of a reply. For the first time, even two-bit Jasiri was out of words. "Uhhh....?" Was the best he could come up with. His humiliation showed. The hind legs of the zebra stomped the and every once in a while he gave a vigorous shake of his head. Shot down a notch the small equine as truly embarrassed, but Jasiri was never the type to give up. A frown on his face the zebra looked to the mare with no answer to give, but the look in his hazel eyes sent a clear message. He wasn't going to be run off so easily.
